Sad Chanel pearls...

I got this Jo Malone candle not so long ago - two or three months? - and I used it up pretty quickly. I kept the glass, just because I couldn't bring myself to throw away something that said Jo M on it. So I put it in the dishwasher and it came out completely wax-free and most importantly the Jo Malone label was still intact. Now what? I tried putting in a smaller candle but didn't like that. I settled for lots of fake pearls, instead. I think it looks really pretty. I have another three candles I'll be able to do this with!

Especially when there's a bit of Chanel peeking out from behind the Jo M label:

Speaking of Chanel pearls... if you've ever been tempted to buy these, think again. Not because they are expensive (roughly 400 GBP / 500 EUR / 650 USD) for a string of fake pearls and you're just paying for the two yummy Chanel logos. No. Because of the low quality. I wasn't prepared for this so I was devastated when I first saw that they peel. If you look closely at the pearl in the middle closest to you (at the bottom of the photo), you'll see that some of the colour has come off. Ok, maybe it's not hugely noticeable but even I saw it - without my glasses - when I was standing a good distance from the mirror.

I went to the Chanel boutique to ask if they could do anything and the answer I got was what I'd expected: not really. If the necklace is broken, they might try to repair it but otherwise... "it's just costume jewellery so buy a new one", basically. Sigh.

In case you do have one like this already... I think this happened because I like to wrap the necklace around my neck twice. So only wearing it long might help.

To end on a more positive note...

My current all-things-Jo Malone obsession continues with the purchase of a body creme! Orange Blossom is my favourite scent at the moment. The creme is rich, luxurious and smells just as good as the perfume (which isn't always the case). It's definitely my favourite fragrance at the moment. I'll soon have to buy a new bottle of perfume because I'm already halfway through the smaller one that I got a few months ago!

Great idea, I always have a hard time throwing away a pretty packaging when I used up the product!

Ohmygosh, that is horrible about the Chanel pearls! For some reason I always thought the pearls were real, I mean considering the price they really should be! But they're still so beautiful! x

Oooh that is a lovely!!! It does look very pretty indeed.

That is a real pity about the Chanel faux-pearls! Wow..that is very dear for fake ones! ><

Looks gorgeous! However, that IS a big bummer that they peel! You would think for that pricetag they would last longer!

I love to use my candle jars to store my jewelry in..I put my jars in the freezer and let the wax get hard..then I just pop the wax right out!

Bummer about the Chanel "pearls"..all that money and they peel??? I think I would have shed a tear...hahaha

You're right, that Jo M label is too chic to throw away and this is the perfect use ... fun and pretty. Have a lovely week, sweetie! xo

it's a shame the Chanel pearls are fake since they charge so much for it! I was definitely put off from buying Chanel jewelry knowing they use anything but gold or silver!

I want to try Jo Malone one day :)
